Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

Sonento is a personalized song-gift service. This Privacy Policy covers the Sonento mobile apps, website, account services, generated lyrics and music, gift pages, and related support. It explains what information we process, why we process it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information you provide

Account information includes your email address, authentication identifiers, display name, profile photo, and subscription status.

Creation content includes recipient names, relationships, occasions, languages, musical preferences, stories, memories, instructions, lyrics edits, and anything else you choose to enter. It may contain information about another person, so only submit it when you have the right to do so.

Optional media includes photos you deliberately select for a profile or video gift. Sonento does not need access to your entire photo library when the system picker can provide only the items you choose.

Support communications include messages and attachments you send when asking for help, reporting content, or exercising a privacy right.

3. Information collected automatically

We may process basic device, app version, platform, language, network, crash, security, and feature-performance information needed to operate and protect the service.

Non-essential product analytics are off by default and are used only when you enable that choice. Personalized advertising is not enabled in the current app; if it is introduced, Sonento will provide the required notice and consent controls before using data for personalized ads. You can change available choices in Profile → Privacy & data.

Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, or another app-store provider processes purchases. Sonento receives purchase status, product, price/currency, renewal, and entitlement information, but not your complete payment-card details.

4. How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts; create, edit, store, and deliver song gifts; generate lyrics, audio, artwork, and video; maintain your library; operate public gift links you choose to publish; process entitlements; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and improve reliability with your consent where required.

We do not sell your private stories or gift content or use it for Sonento advertising. AI providers process submitted content only for the generation purpose and under the configured service and data-protection terms described below.

5. AI processing

The details you submit for a project may be sent to contracted AI providers to produce lyrics or music. Depending on the configured feature, these providers may include services from OpenAI, Google, or ElevenLabs. We send only the information reasonably needed for the requested generation and require providers to process it under their service and data-protection terms.

AI output can be inaccurate or unexpected. Review lyrics, audio, and other generated material before sharing it, and avoid entering highly sensitive information that is not necessary for the gift.

6. Service providers and disclosures

We may share information with vendors that provide hosting and databases, authentication, AI generation, audio or media storage, analytics you consent to, advertising you consent to, subscriptions, email delivery, error monitoring, and customer support. Examples may include Supabase, Expo, PostHog, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, OpenAI, Google AI services, and ElevenLabs.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, during a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards, or when you direct us to share it. Service providers may change as the product evolves; this policy will be updated when a material change affects your rights.

7. Sharing and public gift pages

Projects are private to your account unless you intentionally create or share a gift page or exported file. Anyone with a public gift link may be able to view its title, message, lyrics, and playable media. Do not publish another person’s private information without permission.

You can stop sharing by deleting the related gift or account where that control is available. Copies already downloaded, recorded, or reshared by another person may remain outside Sonento’s control.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep account and project information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, tax, dispute resolution, or enforcement. Backup copies may take additional time to expire under our normal backup cycle.

You can permanently delete your account in Profile → Privacy & data → Delete my account. Deletion removes the account and associated profile, projects, answers, generated lyrics, stored song files, video gifts, push tokens, and hosted gift pages, subject to limited legal or backup retention. You can also follow the instructions at /delete-account on the Sonento website.

9. Your controls and privacy rights

The app provides controls to export core account and project data, withdraw analytics or advertising consent, and delete your account. You may also ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a portable copy of personal information, or object to certain processing, where applicable law provides those rights.

To make a request, email support@sonento.app from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Children

Sonento is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher minimum age to consent to online services, a parent or legal guardian must authorize use. Do not submit a child’s personal information or photos unless you are authorized to do so. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate permission.

11. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including authenticated access and database access controls. No storage or transmission system is completely secure.

Sonento and its providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use contractual or other recognized safeguards for international transfers.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Sonento changes. The updated date will be revised, and we will provide additional notice when required. Questions, privacy requests, or complaints can be sent to support@sonento.app.
